Senior Saints - Missionary Closet

Trinity Baptist Church Missionary Closet

Who We Are and What We Do

Hiding out in a small room tucked between the Walker and Two-Year-Old Nurseries you will find the Missionary Closet.  Its purpose is to give visiting missionaries an opportunity to shop free of charge for items they would otherwise need to buy.  The Closet is a ministry of the 65-Plus Adult Bible Fellowship class.

On the first Sunday of January 2005, pillows, sheets, pillow covers, and towels--both bath and kitchen--were donated by the men and women of the 65-Plus Class.  In February the class brought in personal items--health and beauty aids.  What a collection that was!

In the months that followed, we focused on items for use during deputation and furloughs.  Tools, school supplies, sewing and craft items, greeting cards and stationery, baby needs, books, hostess gifts, gift certificates, postage stamps, etc.

Guidelines For Donations to the Missionary Closet

New items only.  Used items--no matter how much life is left in them--will not be displayed in the closet.

Price tags, original or your own, need to be securely attached to each item.  If you have made a handcrafted item, please mark it according to the fair market value of the item.

No food items, please.  Even candy loses its appeal when sitting on the shelf for a long period of time.  An exception to this rule would be bottled spices.

No date books or calendars.  They become obsolete almost immediately.
